Our antiques expert appraises a handmade Christmas linen towel to help determine what it's worth today.
Please tell me about this doily my mother found at a farm auction. I love it and had it archival framed to display in my guestroom. It measures 22 by 32 inches.

What’s It Worth?
A: There’s no doubt about the age of this Christmas present! In 1914, most gifts were lovingly handmade. This linen hand towel was cut and the filet crochet was inserted across the center. The heavily embroidered letters really pop against the black background.
Alternating crocheted and linen ends are finished with a fan pattern edge. Your sweet doily would appeal to both linen and Christmas collectors, which would add to its value of about $150.
